While preaching for me recently, my son-in-law, Kyle Melton, gave testimony of an experience that he had in a remote Phillippine village in July.
Upon arriving at a small meeting place for church, he was informed that he would be preaching to the people. When he stood up to preach, he looked
down and saw a partially expoled booklet sticking out from the back of the pulpit. Out of curiosity, he reached down, pulled it out, and discovered
that it was actually a New Testament in the native Phillipine language. You can imagine his excitement when he discovered (via the logo) that this
portion of Scripture had come from Bearing Precious Seed in Milford, Ohio! Bro. Melton told the congregation that the ministry of Bearing Precious
Seed was actually out of his home church in the United States. As I listened to his testimony that day, I thought of all of the effort that had gone
into the New Testament and what it had taken to get it halfway around the world to people who needed God's Word in their language. It took someone
years of dedication to the translation of that Scripture. It took paper, ink, and a press to print it, funds to ship it, and the manpower and support
of many concerned Christians along the way. Only the Lord knows the full impact from the 100 million plus portions of Scripture that have been provided
by Bearing Precious Seed and its partners, like yourselves. With the prayer and financial support of many churches and individuals, over 110 countries
have now received printed portions of God's Word in their native language. A big "thank you" goes to everyone who has participated. Thanks also goes
to supporting churches for supplying the necessary shipping funds, and to each missionary who has received and distributed the Word of God in each country.
I received a letter this month from one of our missionaries in Ghana, West Africa with a picture of the recently completed Bob Hayes Memorial
Building. Bro. Hayes dedicated his life to supplying the people of Ghana with the precious Word of God. There are many others who have preceded
us with a great testimony for loving and serving our Lord until God took them home. May we remain similarly faithful in promulgating the Word of God
during our lifetime.
If we can assist you or your missionaries with Scripture, please contact us. If you could help financially with the expenses of getting the Word of
God to those in need, please contact us as well. We will continue to labor faithfully for the Lord Jesus Christ so that others may know Him.
